since we are on the topic on "gimme" hairstyles i would like to state for the record that i'm seriously considering getting a "loose" perm so my hair looks like this...

how pretty is that? i have stick straight hair...the kind that you can wash, let air dry and it turns out straight as a board. i have tried curlers and curling irons and my hair just wont cooperate...i think it needs some chemical discipline. i tried to think of women with curly hair and these came to mind...

If I had a million dollars, part two.

I'd get the fiance portraits of our dog for by the super-talented Erin Vey for Christmas. What better way to document man's best friend, when man loves his dog almost as much as he loves his fiancee? This (taking dog portraits) just might also be my dream job, other than owning a store with Shift...

I love puppies. I love Martha Stewart. Martha's adorable Chow Chow dog, Paw Paw, passed away earlier this year. She wrote the most heartfelt post on her blog about how much she loved him - I was literally crying at my desk at work.

So today I discovered that Martha is adopting one of Paw Paw's "grandsons," named Ghengis Khan. Take a gander at how flat-out adorable he is:

And so does Valentino. His little troupe of Pugs, including Milton, Monty, Maude (we knew he was a Bea Arthur fan), Margot, Maggie, and Molly, follow him everywhere. baby it's cold outside.

Today really feels like fall. It was 52 degrees when Lucy and I went out for our morning walk, and once we hit the cold air, she looked at me like, "really?" I was wearing a fleece so I was warm, but her poor little ears were freezing. I think it's time to look for a dog coat.

I think this would actually keep her warm. Too bad it's a "down shooting vest" and costs $115. Next!

A coat might be better than a sweater since I wouldn't have to pull it off and on. This barn coat is cute and looks warm.

Or I love this one - a little Barbour jacket for dogs! I know their people coats are warm, so I bet this would be too.
I know I'm gonna hear it from shift for writing a post on dog clothing...but how cute would Lucy look in a coat? Plus, it's Friday morning. No serious work is going on until the coffee kicks in.

Dogs on planes?

Miss Lucy and I are headed to Indy later this week for some much-needed...wedding planning? And family and shopping and naps and long walks. Fortunately, Lucy is small enough that she can come on the plane with me and go under the seat in front of me. Unfortunately Lucy has to travel in a not-so-cute airline-approved dog carrier, but I think she'd love this sweater to keep her warm:She gets really cold on planes (don't we all? it's freezing!) so at least she should be able to look cute while staying warm.

so when it comes to "cuteness" tags mine will look like this...

but i can admit that dog of hers is friggin cute :) too
